Theoretical sharp corner dimension
Webb7 aug. 2014 · If you must measure on CMM and you have scanning capability you could scan along the 2D cross section as shown in the image with a very small ruby capturing as much of the radius as possible without contacting the cone. Then construct a best fit circle through those points. WebbThis question has a validated answer. Enclosed is a piece that slides into a dovetail. The radius is just for clearance. I'm looking to be able to give a dimention that is the most relative to the fit. Is this possible or should I just lie in the text box. The dimension should be 1.244 to "theoretical sharp corner". Thank you in advance.

I seem to recall that having this checked prevents virtual intersections on initial placement, but they can be moved to VIs afterwards. Hope that helps, Sam B
Webb17 sep. 2008 · Re: Theoretical Sharp Corners. There's actually another way to do it, that doesn't require sketch geometry. Try this. 1) Start your dimension tool. 2) Pick the first edge that's part of the intersection. 3) Right click, and choose the 'Intersection' option. 4) Pick the edge 2. 5) The intersection should build for you.
